Loft Conversions

A Skylight or ‘Velux’ loft conversion is one of the simplest conversion types to build. Cost-effective and simple, this type of conversion utilizes roof windows (such as Velux) to create additional light and space in your loft without altering the roof structure. It’s ideal for properties with sufficient headroom and doesn’t require extensive alterations to the roof. As the roof of the property is not altered  it is normally possible to avoid planning permission.

This is one of the most popular types of loft conversion. With various styles available, including flat roof dormers and gable-fronted dormers, this option offers significant increases in usable space by extending the roof and creating additional headroom. It also gives additional design potential such as Juliet Balcony, floor to ceiling glass and roof lights.

This type of conversion involves altering the roof structure to create a nearly vertical wall with a flat roof. Mansard conversions often result in a significant increase in usable floor space and can accommodate full headroom throughout the newly converted loft area.

This conversion involves extending the hip roof (the sloping side of a roof) to create a vertical gable wall, maximizing the available space within the loft. It’s commonly used for properties with hipped roofs, where the existing loft space is limited due to the slope of the roof.

This extends the existing loft space in two directions, forming an “L” shape. This type of conversion is ideal for properties with rear and side extensions. It allows for increased living space and flexibility in room layout, often incorporating features like en-suite bathrooms or walk-in closets. L-shaped conversions are a great way to maximize the potential of your property while making efficient use of available roof space.
